Network Waitaki reinforcement and upgrading work in Hampden South area from 14 May to mid-June 2018

From time to time Network Waitaki upgrades and reinforces the network to ensure it meets its consumers demand for an efficient, safe and reliable service. From 14 May to mid-June 2018 the area south of Hampden will be affected as a result of work on the network.  The area affected will include Moeraki Boulders, Moeraki township, Trotters Gorge and Shag Point.

Due to the substantial growth and increase of capacity required in this area, Network Waitaki is going to be upgrading the line to strengthen the supply.  Work carried out is going to be a full restringing of the line with heavier conductor (wire) and as well, undertaking pole replacements and repairs.

Network Waitaki understands the inconvenience of power outages and endeavours to carry out the work with the greatest care and responsibility.  Safety of consumers and staff is the number one priority for Network Waitaki and work will be planned in accordance with safety regulations.

During the period, there may be outages of up to 7 hours. The outages enable the crew to create a safe working zone and complete the scheduled upgrades. Any such outages will occur between 8:30am – 5.30pm. Affected consumers will be informed of the specific times and dates as the project progresses.
